TRON (TRX) ‘Partnership’ with Baidu has Nothing to do with Blockchain

The TRON (TRX) and Baidu ‘partnership’ all started with a tweet.

TRON’s founder, Justin Sun, is notorious for vague ‘pump’ tweets and this one was no different. TRON’s ICO ended at the beginning of Sept 2017, and that’s when the “wait for our next big partnership that’s coming soon” marketing tactic began. In the beginning, it was effective. Sun would post a tweet of this nature and TRX would jump in price. Eventually, investors stopped listening because the partnerships made weren’t as big as expected.

Unfortunately, when TRON completed its mainnet and various other foundational milestones worthy of a price pump, investors were burnt by the project’s previous marketing tactics and didn’t purchase TRX.

TRON (TRX): The Boy Who Cried Wolf?

It seems the TRON team is sticking to what they know and it seems to have worked again. TRX soared 10% in price when the unconfirmed reports specified that Baidu was the ‘mystery’ partner. There has yet to be an official announcement made by either TRON or Justin Sun about this said partnership.

According to the Chinese crypto news site Odaily, TRON is only renting cloud server space from the Beijing-based tech giant.

The translated press release states:

“Wave Field TRON will build compatibility with Baidu Cloud to build, operate and debug blockchain products to optimize compatibility and optimize the development experience.”

Criticism

Justin Sun’s “announcement of an announcement” tweets have been a long joke in the crypto space, and even Vitalik Buterin has poked fun at it. While it may be a good joke for some, others aren’t laughing.

Back in January, Sun pulled a similar tactic with TRON’s partnership with Baofeng. The founder called Baofeng the Chinese Netflix, but instead, it’s more of a video player software. Also, the partnership wasn’t with Boafeng, but a subdivision of the company—stretching the truth a little bit.

We will see what TRON and Justin Sun have to officially say about the matter if they even acknowledge it at all.

TRX Price Movement

According to CoinMarketCap, TRX is currently trading at $0.0246 a coin, down -1.97%.

EOS, TRON (TRX), and Litecoin (LTC) Updates

The cryptocurrency market is trading mostly in the red this Friday morning. Most coins in the top 10 cryptocurrencies are either just above the percentage gains threshold or just below. EOS and TRON (TRX) are currently in the green, but Litecoin (LTC) is trading down.

Let’s take a closer look at these projects and their latest movements.

EOS

Recently, the official ‘EOS’ Twitter name was changed to Block.one. Block.one is the blockchain-based company that formed EOS. The company must be taking bets that most people truly interested in EOS know about Block.one, but I’m sure those new to the crypto community might get a bit confused.

However, in 2018 it seems the diehard crypto-loyalists are the only ones who have stuck around since the crypto rise and fall in January.

Recently, Block.one announced the location and date of the EOS Global Hackathon Grand Finale.

The grand finale will be held on December 7th, in Cape Town, South Africa.

TRON (TRX)

There has been lots of movement over at the TRON Foundation as of late. Since it acquired BitTorrent, the companies have formed a new web-based torrent streaming client called μTorrent.

It seems μTorrent Web currently has over one million active users already and the company announced that BitTorrent Web will be live soon. In addition to its BitTorrent movement, TRON has been expanding on exchanges.

On Bitfinex, users can now trade for TRX with JPY, GBP, and the EUR—making it far more accessible to those around the globe.

Litecoin (LTC)

Litecoin will be celebrating its seventh birthday coming up on October 13th. That same day, LTC will be added to Gemini’s exchange.

In mid-September, LTC was added to the Canadian exchange Coinut. Later this month, Litecoin Founder Charlie Lee will be attending and speaking at the World Crypto Conference in Las Vegas.

Tickets are still available for purchase if you would like to meet him in person.

EOS, TRON (TRX), and Litecoin (LTC) Price Movement

According to CoinMarketCap, EOS is currently trading at $5.74 a coin, up 0.99% in 24 hours. EOS still remains the fifth largest cryptocurrency by its total market cap.

TRX is currently trading at $0.0231 a coin, up 5.20% in 24 hours. TRON is currently the 12th largest cryptocurrency by its total market cap.

According to CoinMarketCap, LTC is currently trading at $58.18 a coin, down -0.59% in 24 hours. Litecoin remains the seventh largest cryptocurrency by its total market cap.

Altcoin Gainers Today | EOS, Tron (TRX), & VeChain (VET)

Only a handful of coins in the top 100 cryptocurrencies are seeing losses on the market this morning. After a rough start to August, it seems the market has begun correcting itself again. At press time, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading just below $6,500 and Ethereum has just passed the $300 threshold.

EOS, Tron (TRX), and VeChain (VET) are all altcoin gainers today – let’s take a closer look at their prices and latest project updates.

Altcoin Gainers Today: EOS

EOS was passed by Stellar earlier this week for the fifth largest cryptocurrency by total market cap. However, the cryptocurrency has gained momentum in the last 24 hours and is back to fifth.

Block.one, the software publisher that designed EOS, is currently holding its EOS global hackathon to incentivize dApps to be built on top of EOS. Two of the competitions have already been completed and two more are set to occur in the next coming months.

Block.one will release the dates for the fifth ‘finale’ hackathon in December. The top three winners from each hackathon will compete in the grand finale.

At press time, EOS is currently trading at $4.86 a coin, up 3.22% in 24 hours.

Tron (TRX)

Tron recently dropped to the 12th largest cryptocurrency by total market cap, but has received a boost on the market today and is seeing over 10% gains.

Justin Sun, Tron’s founder, just made the announcement that his project has just completed the acquisition of Blockchain.org. The coin’s boost must be due to this announcement just three hours ago.

At press time, TRX is trading at $0.0215 a coin, up 10.34% in 24 hours.

VeChain (VET)

This morning, VeChain is among the top coins with the most gains on the market.

Yesterday, the VeChain Foundation put out this announcement but there doesn’t seem to be a clear indication why the coin has spiked so rapidly. The usual ‘pump’ tweets are all over Twitter but those are to always be ignored.

At press time, VET is trading at $0.0149 a coin, up 48.35% in 24 hours.

Crypto World Cup Third Place

63 games down and one more to go. Earlier, the Crypto World Cup third-place match took place, and, after a middling match, Satoshi Nakamoto secured the title of third place.

Some argue that the third-place game in the Crypto World Cup means nothing; after all, it’s not like the winning crypto player gets a bronze medal, like in the Olympics.

We disagree. We think getting to the third-place match in the Crypto World Cup is something to be proud of — even when being there means both crypto players lost in the semifinals.

Crypto World Cup: Satoshi Nakamoto Comes in Third

Satoshi Nakamoto and Justin Sun faced off for third place in the Crypto World Cup, not long after Nakamoto lost 1-0 in its semi-finals match to Charles Hoskinson, and Justin Sun lost, in what was one of the most heartbreaking games of my life, to Charlie Lee in extra-time.

>> Justin Sun vs. Charlie Lee Semi-Final

But despite the disappointment, despite the tears, both Satoshi Nakamoto and Justin Sun walked onto the pitch today, heads held high.

Final Score: Satoshi Nakamoto 2-0 Justin Sun

This game pretty much favored Satoshi Nakamoto, who scored within the first four minutes, and kept the 1-0 lead right through to halftime.

In the second half, it looked like Justin Sun may have been on the verge of a comeback. Satoshi Nakamoto was receiving yellow card after yellow card, an indication that he was feeling the pressure, and starting to get frustrated with Justin Sun.

But a comeback never happened. In the 70th minute, it could have happened; Justin Sun almost scored, twice, in a span of two minutes. However, because of Nakamoto’s strong defense, the ball never met the back of the net.

12 minutes later, Satoshi Nakamoto knocked the ball into the bottom left-hand corner from inside the box, making the score 2-0.

And that was it. Injury time did nothing; it was evident Justin Sun had given up after the second Nakamoto goal went in.

No Time For Tears

Like we said earlier, it’s a big deal to have even gotten this far. Satoshi Nakamoto was full of surprises throughout the entire tournament, and Justin Sun not only made history getting as far as he did, but he also provided a nation with hope.

>> Crypto Finals Preview

It’s a big deal to us, and, we hope Satoshi Nakamoto and Justin Sun feel the same. Now, however, all they can do is spend time with their loved ones, and, perhaps, watch the Charlie Lee vs. Charles Hoskinson game tomorrow (check back then!)

So congratulations to Satoshi Nakamoto for coming in third at the Crypto World Cup, and Justin Sun, you should feel extremely accomplished!

Oh, and one more thing: there’s always the Crypto Euros, two years from now!

Crypto World Cup Day 23

Whelp, that just happened. Day 23 of the Crypto World Cup has Charlie Lee facing off against Justin Sun and, boy, is it a doozy!

In a nail-biting turn of events, Charlie Lee manages to just scrape by a win, as Justin Sun plays a messy game.

The Crypto World Cup is almost over now. All that’s left now are the third-place play-off and the highly anticipated final game. Be sure to check back in on Sunday for the final match of the season!

Let’s take a closer look at today’s game

Charlie Lee 2-1 Justin Sun

Many people, including myself (perhaps wishful thinking on my part), thought Justin Sun had this game completely in the bag. But, Lee showed just how strong he really is in the world of crypto and whooped Sun hard.

Things started bright in the world of Justin Sun today. A mere five minutes into the game and Sun had already scored a goal – and what a beautiful goal it was! The TRON Dogs were going mad with celebration as Sun held of Lee for a large portion of the game.

Justin Sun made it out of the first half of the game still in the lead one – nil. He continued his lead through much of the second half of the game as well, but then disaster struck, and Charlie Lee managed to put one in the goal with about 20 minutes left in the game. Now, the TRON Dogs were going mad with rage.

To the dismay of Sun supporters and the utter glee of Lee fans, the clock ticked down and the game ended in a tie, 1 – 1. The match went into extra time, and Sun looked to be going between stages of fighting hard and losing all hope.

Then, all hope really was lost for Sun, as Lee scored his second – and ultimately winning – goal of the game. With only ten minutes left in overtime, Sun was looking pretty defeated.

As some would say – Charlie Lee didn’t win that game, Justin Sun LOST it.

But, c’est la vie. Lee now moves onto the finals against Charles Hoskinson, and Sun must be content to retake Satoshi Nakamoto for third place (and the TRON dogs must lick their wounds).

Who are you rooting for now? Charlie Lee or Charles Hoskinson?
